A MAN has been ordered to pay more £400 after driving a HGV over the weight limit in a village.
Peter David Dowling, 49 of Hales Meadow, Mudford in Somerset appeared in Oxford Magistrates’ Court on May 6 and pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle in excess of the gross weight limit.
Magistrates heard that on September 21, 2021, Dowling drove a heavy good vehicle which exceeded the weight restriction of 18 tonnes on the A415 at Newbridge near Kingston Bagpuize.

The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into consideration when imposing a sentence.
He was fined £233 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £180.
Overall Dowling was ordered to pay £447 by June 3, 2022.
