Rebekah Vardy, who is at the centre of the "Wagatha Christie" libel trial spent some of her younger years in Witney and met her first husband in the local pub.

The mum-of-five, who is married to Leicester striker Jamie, also had a relationship with Luke Foster who once played for Oxford United.

Mrs Vardy has spoken out about her tough upbringing on a council estate and revealed that she was sexually abused as a young teenager.

She claims she was asked to leave home at just 16 after a series of rows with her parents, a BBC local radio DJ and a window cleaner father.

In a social media post in October 2019, her former friend Coleen Rooney said she had carried out a “sting operation” and accused Mrs Vardy, 40, of leaking “false stories” about her private life to the press.

Mrs Vardy denies leaking stories to the media and is suing her fellow WAG for libel.

Mrs Rooney is defending the claim on the basis her post was “substantially true”.

Rebekah, 'Becky' to friends, married Mark Godden after they met in a pub in Witney when he was 21 and she was 18.

She was working as a barmaid and he was playing in the darts team.

Speaking to The Mirror in 2017, he claimed they became engaged when Becky Nicholson, as she was then, spotted a ring in a magazine and told him: "I want that. Buy it for me."

It was reported that the pair spent £7,000 on their wedding on the beach in Mexico in 2001, but the marriage lasted just six months.

Mrs Vardy later admitted that she'd had a liaison with Peter Andre while still married to Mr Godden -  the alleged size of the singer's manhood took centre stage on day one of the libel trial.

When she appeared on I'm A Celebrity... in 2017, Mr Godden told the Sun: "While I don't want to see her win, although she'd love to, I want her to go through hell."

After a failed marriage to Steve Clarke, her boss at a timeshare company, she had a relationship was with footballer Luke Foster, father of one of her sons.

Mr Foster said when he ended up playing for more lower league clubs including Lincoln City, he was forced to use credit cards to keep up with her luxury lifestyle.

"Becky was finding it a struggle. We weren’t doing that badly, in my mind – living in a five-bed house, driving around in a Mercedes," he told the Mirror.

The couple parted amicably in 2013 and Mr Foster got her a job as a nightclub promoter in Viper nightclub in Sheffield where she met Jamie Vardy while planning his birthday party.

Mr Foster said: "Becky upgraded. She said that to my face. She said he'd treat her a hell of a lot better."
