A fuel spill near Wheatley led to road closures and traffic and transport disruption yesterday evening.
The M40 Southbound entry slip road at junction 8 was the site of a fuel spill that caused major transport delays.
Road closures were put in place and authorities worked to remove the spill from the carriageway.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service put out a tweet asking drivers to please find an alternative route if possible.
Traffic was extremely heavy around the incident area at 8pm last night. With the Southbound lane still being closed at that time.
National Highways initially stated that the incident was expected to be cleared by 9pm, however they changed their prediction to 10pm an hour later.
