NEW food hygiene ratings have been given to 12 Oxfordshire businesses. 

The Food Standards Agency website reveals the scores, out of five, awarded by inspectors.  

A score of 0 is the worst possible rating and a score of 5 is the best possible rating.

In West Oxfordshire the following food hygiene ratings were given:

• Rated 5: Buttercup Bistro at Fernleigh Restaurant, Buttercross Lane, Witney, Oxfordshire; rated on March 22

• Rated 4: Mash Home And Pantry at 1 Market Place, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire; rated on March 21

• Rated 5: Siege Of Orleans at 5 The Giles Centre, Alvescot Road, Carterton, Oxfordshire; rated on March 30

• Rated 5: The Cotswold Merrymouth Inn at Stow Road, Fifield, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire; rated on March 24

• Rated 5: Coco Gelato at Unit 2, Cranbrook Court, Avenue Two, Witney; rated on April 20

In Cherwell the following food hygiene ratings were given: 

• Rated 2: Jenny's Cafe at 87 High Street, Banbury, Oxfordshire; rated on March 11

• Rated 5: Red Lion Cropredy at 8 Red Lion Street, Cropredy, Oxfordshire; rated on March 9

• Rated 5: Fairway Fish Bar at 33 The Fairway, Banbury, Oxfordshire; rated on March 10

• Rated 5: Papa Johns at 6 George Street, Banbury, Oxfordshire; rated on March 10

• Rated 2: Mumma Sues at 70 - 72 Orchard Way, Banbury, Oxfordshire; rated on March 9

In South Oxfordshire the following food hygiene ratings were given:

  • Rated 4: The Old Nags Head, at 43 Upper High Street, Thame, Oxon; rated on March 29
  • Rated 3: The Rising Sun, at Witheridge Hill, Highmoor, Henley-On-Thames; rated on March 29.
