AA MOTORIST has been released under investigation after a man died in a crash with a vehicle, with the driver allegedly above the drug limit.

At 12.50am last Thursday, a Ford Focus, a Yamaha motorcycle and red DAF box van were all involved in a collision at the junction of Frax Close and Faringdon Road in Kingston Bagpuize, near Abingdon.

A 21-year old woman from Faringdon was arrested my police on suspicion of driving a vehicle with a proportion of a controlled drug above the specified limit and causing death by careless driving.

Thames Valley Police said today the woman has been released under investigation.

The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man, died at the scene.

The man’s next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.

The lorry driver sustained a minor leg injury that was treated at the scene.

At the time of the incident, investigating officer, PC Darren Baker, of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the motorcyclist.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or anyone who has a dash-cam and was in the local area to check the footage in case it may have captured something that could assist our investigation.
