Oxford Mail:

Ms Dodds said: "My thoughts are with the friends and family of the deceased at this very difficult time.

"I am concerned to hear a murder investigation has been launched by police, and understand this must be very worrying to local residents.

"I would urge anyone with information or concerns to contact the police."

Police were called to the property on Brome Place on Sunday morning to perform a welfare check on the man in his fifties.

Upon their arrival, police found the body of the man with facial and head injuries.

Oxford Mail:

It is alleged the man was assaulted on Saturday night at the shops near Underhill Circus and was taken home by friends.

However, he did not seek medical advice following the incident or report it to police.

Officers are now hunting for a man and woman who they believe may have committed the assault.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, if you saw anything or have information call 101, quoting incident reference 858 of 24 April.

The investigation continues.
