An Oxford MP has contracted Covid-19 for the first time.

Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran posted on Twitter this morning that she has tested positive for the virus.

The Lib Dem MP said: “After two years Covid has finally got me for the first time.😢 Feeling a bit unwell but not too bad. I’ll be following the latest guidance as per NHS website.”

Her followers were quick to send their well-wishes to Ms Moran.

Labour county councillor Damian Haywood responded: “Sorry to see this Layla, I hope you aren't suffering too badly.”

Lib Dem candidate for Eastbourne Josh Babarinde told Ms Moran to “Rest up and get well soon”.

Journalist and Lib Dem Parliamentary candidates Liz Jarvis said: “Hope you feel better soon.”
