Strikes planned by warehouse workers at Oxford’s MINI plant over “inadequate” pay have been postponed following a new pay offer.

The 180 Warehouse staff and shunter drivers were planning the strikes over an “inadequate” pay offer. The union Unite said strikes are likely to have a “significant” impact on production at MINI.

However, the employer Rudolph & Hellman have tabled a new pay offer.

Unite said if the workers reject the pay offer, strikes scheduled for May 10, 12, 17 and 19 will go ahead.

Unite regional officer Scott Kemp said: “Following talks with Rudolph & Hellman, an improved offer was put forward by the company.

“Strikes have now been postponed and we will be balloting our members on whether the new deal meets their aspirations.”
