A truck driver accused of making a U-turn on the A34 then crashing into another motorist will stand trial in August.

Prosecutors say Kawshar Auzine, 49, was allegedly behind the wheel of an Iveco Daily flat bed truck on the A34 near South Hinksey on January 14, 2021.

He is said to have made a right turn across the A-road around half a mile from the Hinksey interchange when his van was struck by another car.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday morning, Auzine, of Campden Crescent, Dagenham, pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving.

Judge Maria Lamb bailed him to return to court for his trial in August.

She told the defendant: “Your trial is in what is called the warned list for August 22 this year, which means that at any stage during a two week period which begins on August 22 the trial could be called in for hearing at very short notice.

“If you are not there, then there will be an application to deal with the case in your absence. Do you understand?

“It is very important that you keep in contact with you solicitors so you are aware if anything changes in relation to the trial being called on.”

Cathy Olliver appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.
