An Oxfordshire road will be closed for a month due to the HS2 project from tomorrow, with a huge diversion in place.

HS2 is a controversial project that aims to create a high-speed railway between the South and North of England.

The planned work will cause a 4-mile diversion, which will last for four weeks, whilst highway crossing areas are built on a small stretch of road in Banbury.

Part of Wardington Road will be closed near the intersection to Welsh Road, and this area will be resurfaced, white lined, and temporary traffic lights will be installed.

The preparatory works will require large plant and machinery jeopardising peoples safety, and concrete will need time to set, which is why the road will be closed 24 hours a day.
