Cotswold Wildlife Park shared the moment their lions got their paws on some Easter eggs.
Rather than the chocolatey treats many of us will be enjoying this weekend, the park's Asiatic Lions, Rana and Kanha, were given decorated Ostrich eggs scented with fresh blood.
Rana was the first lion to investigate the eggs, a yellow one taking his fancy, and in the video he can be seen playing with it.
Kanha also seems to like the yellow eggs the most, as she can soon be seen darting around playing with the eggs.
The eggs were placed in a nest made from rosemary herbs, which Kanha can be seen rolling in.
Assistant Animal Manager at Cotswold Wildlife Park Chris Kibbey said that the eggs were given to the lions as part of their 'enrichment'.
He said: "Lions have a great sense of smell and this ‘olfactory’ enrichment worked very well with both Kanha and Rana playing with the eggs as well as rolling in the herbs.
"Providing enrichment is an essential role of any modern zoo and theming it can be very rewarding for the keepers and animals.”
The Cotswold Wildlife Park is open between 10am and 6pm during summertime with last admissions at 4pm.
The busiest times for visiting, according to the park, seem to be between 10.30am and midday.
