SPEEDWAY is tonight set to make a sensational return to Oxford Stadium after a 15-year absence.
Oxford Cheetahs welcome Scunthorpe Scorpions tonight at 7.30pm, for what promises to be an emotional affair for fans.
Racing hasn’t taken place at the Sandy Lane venue since 2007, with the Cheetahs set to make their long-awaited return to the track in the British Speedway Championship.

June 2021: Businessman Kevin Boothby secures a ten-year lease from stadium owners Galliard Homes
November 2021: Official confirmation that speedway would return to Oxford Stadium, before seven-time British champion Scott Nicholls was unveiled as Cheetahs captain
January 2022: The Cheetahs complete their squad with the final two signings of Josh MacDonald and Dillon Ruml. Days later, three-time world champion Jason Crump was unveiled as manager
April 2022: Development side Oxford Chargers begin a new era with a 50-40 defeat at Berwick Bullets

Are there any tickets left?
Tonight’s meeting is a sell-out, with no tickets available to buy. The inside of the stadium is still undergoing finishing touches, so it won’t be a 2,500 capacity, however all 2,000 tickets for tonight have sold.
Over half the tickets for the meeting with Poole Pirates on April 20 have sold, with the fixture expected to also be a sell-out.

Oxford Stadium in Sandy Lane, Cowley, has undergone an extensive refurbishment in recent months.
