A house guest is said to have bitten off the tip of his host’s index finger as they grappled on the floor.
Richard Piercy, 34, is also accused of slashing at the male host’s partner with a kitchen knife and throwing a frying pan.
Prosecutor Nony Umenyiora told Oxford Magistrates’ Court that the defendant was said to have thrown a brick through the window of his girlfriend’s car, a Ford C-Max, on April 7.
Jayne Wilkinson, defending, said her client – who appeared in the dock on Saturday morning wearing a neck brace – had sustained a broken vertebrae in the incident in the house in Longcot on April 6 and had received hospital treatment.
Piercy, of no fixed address, entered no pleas to criminal damage and two counts of wounding with intent. He was remanded in custody to appear before Oxford Crown Court on April 25.
