MP Layla Moran has read out a letter in the Commons from a consistuent who is a hopsital doctor saying she can no longer do the job and feels she has let people down.
The Oxford West and Abingdon MP read that ‘Nell’ had been struggling with her health for nearly two years after Covid.
“I adore being a hospital doctor. love my patients and I trained for years to do this,” the constituent said.
But she said while she slowly continued to recover, she did not know whether she could remain doing the job.
Ms Moran was speaking during a debate on the impact of Long Covid on the UK workforce.
Ms Moran posted the clip on Twitter, and wrote: "Nell, you haven't let anyone down. This Government, however, are letting you down."
I was heartbroken to read an email from a doctor called Nell, my constituent, saying she did not know how much longer she could continue to do her job. She feels she has let people down.
