A van driver accused of running over a pedestrian’s legs in Faringdon has denied careless driving.
Prosecutors say Suba Singh, 40, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Sprinter van at the junction of Gloucester Street and Marlborough Street on July 1 when he struck the woman, who was not named in court on Wednesday.
The woman’s legs were allegedly driven over. Tahir Ali, defending, said his client denied the allegation and would say he did not see the alleged victim.
Appearing before Oxford Magistrates’ Court, Singh, of Cottington Close, Swindon, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of careless driving.
The magistrates granted him unconditional bail to return to court for the trial on June 16.
