A MAN was stabbed ‘multiple times’ in Blackbird Leys last night.

Thames Valley Police were called by South Central Ambulance Service at around 8.50pm to Mercury Road in Oxford.
Police had previously said officers were called at 11.40pm but this was a later call about the same incident.
The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital. He is in a ‘serious, but stable’ condition.

Nobody has been arrested.
Crime Manager Detective Chief Inspector James Senior, based at Oxford police station, said: “This was a serious assault on a man who was located in Mercury Road with stab wounds.
“We are in the early stages of this investigation and there are a number of lines of enquiry ongoing.
“We are conducting house to house enquiries and there is an increased police presence in the areas of Mercury Road and Marjoram Close in Oxford while this investigation continues.
“I fully appreciate the concern incidents such as this will have in the local community, but I would like to reassure the community we are conducting a thorough investigation and if anybody has any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to any of our officers at the scene.
“I am appealing to anybody who has any information that can assist this investigation to please contact Thames Valley Police, either online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220085013.
“I am very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage from the area at around the time of the incident to get in touch with us.
