Ukrainian police shared that since this morning, Russia has carried out more than 200 attacks.
Liberal Democrat MP for Oxford Layla Moran said: “A terrible human tragedy is unfolding before our eyes, as a result of Putin’s maniacal aggression.
"We are already seeing queues of people desperate to get out before it is too late, especially the LGBT+ people, journalists and activists who fear persecution at the hands of Russian forces.
"As well as the strongest possible sanctions on Putin and his cronies, this crisis demands a coordinated humanitarian response.
"Anything less would play right into Putin’s hands by destabilising our continent even further.
"The UK has a proud history of providing sanctuary to those forced to flee war and persecution.
"We must not turn our backs on the people of Ukraine in their hour of need.
"Our Ukrainian friends and neighbours across Oxfordshire will be seeing a nightmare scenario in their home country unfold before their eyes.
"My thoughts are with them today, and I urge everyone in our community to keep them in your thoughts in the coming days.”

Labour MP for Oxford Anneliese Dodds said: "Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine is an unprovoked, unjustifiable outrage and a heinous violation of international law that will have tragic consequences.
"The Labour Party stands with our allies and partners in condemning it in the strongest possible terms, and we must maintain and strengthen our unity and resolve.
"I believe the hardest possible sanctions must be taken against all those linked to Putin and against the Russian government’s interests, working in a coordinated and unified way with our allies to ensure the Putin regime faces the severest possible consequences.
"The Labour Party’s commitment to NATO is unshakeable - and the alliance has strongly condemned Putin’s actions. I believe we must move in lockstep with our NATO allies, and take steps to reinforce NATO members on the Eastern flank.
"It is right that Britain has provided support to Ukraine to defend itself - and this should continue. After more than a decade of inaction, the influence of corrupt Russian money must now be extricated from the UK.
"The government must now bring forward the urgent measures that Labour have repeatedly called for.”
