Hollywood has come to Oxford as actor Timothée Chalamet continues to film his new movie.

The A-list actor has been spotted in the city as a number of roads have been closed off so production can take place.

What is Wonka about?

The film is a prequel to Roald Dahl’s children’s novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Wonka will focus on a young Willy Wonka and his adventures prior to opening the world's most famous chocolate factory.

Who stars in the film?

The film stars Timothée Chalamet in the titular role of Willy Wonka.

A host of famous faces will also be taking on roles in the film, including Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Coleman and Jim Carter.

The film will be directed by Paul King and has been written by King and Simon Farnaby. 

Where is it being filmed?

Wonka has been filmed across the UK.

Scenes were shot in Lyme Regis, Bath and at Warner Bros Studios in Watford.

Several scenes have been filmed in Oxford during the last couple of months.

Back in December crowds of screaming fans gathered on Catte Street to catch a glimpse of the star. 

The area around Radcliffe Camera has been closed off again as Chalamet shoots more scenes.

Fake snow has been placed on the ground and actors have be seen wearing Victorian style clothing.

When will it be released?

Wonka is slated to be released on March 17 2023.
