READERS of the Oxford Mail have been debating where the worst potholes in the county lie.

Many people have concerns about the state of the roads in Oxfordshire.

Cody Ling, writing on Facebook said: “Might as well just say Oxfordshire all together.”

He was not alone in his remarks – David Collier also said ‘all’ of the roads in the county have bad potholes with Vicky Cockett also adding ‘the whole of Oxfordshire’.

However, many specific roads were also mentioned.

Donna Lee Horton said Larkhill Road in Abingdon was a particularly bad spot.

William Larking said Speedwell Street in the city centre was the worst road for potholes.

Martin Bennett added: “The A40 from Wheatley toward Headington, especially by night.”

Laura Burns said roads in Bayworth and Sunningwell were the worst places for potholes, before adding that Wootton Road in Abingdon.

Alice Styles said that Bullingdon Road and Crown Street had ‘been bad for years’.

Matthew Anderson said that many of the roads in Oxfordshire are worse than other parts of the country.

He explained: “I live in the North East now and when I come back home to South Oxfordshire I realise how bad the roads are around the whole of the area. I live in a deprived part of the country but the roads are in one hell of a better state than Oxfordshire's roads."
