January 25 celebrates the life and works of world famous Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Burns is well regarded as Scotland’s national poet and he is cultural icon in the country.
The celebration is, therefore, practically a national holiday.
He is well-known works include 'Auld Lang Syne' - which is sung at New Year - and 'A Red, Red Rose'.
These are the Burns Night events happening around the county:
Oxford
- The Crown
The pub is offeriung a three course Scottish meal with whisky flight.
- Browns
The restaurant is offering traditional Scottish specials paired with Glenfiddich whisky.
- The Oxford Union
The university Debate society is offering a traditional Burns supper.
Wantage
- The Greyhound Inn
The pub is offering Scottish Specials from 6pm.
Watlington
- Gravy and Custard Catering
The company will deliver a Burns supper to your own home.
Chadlington
- The Tite Inn
Two course or three course are on offer, alongside a wee dram or Scottish inspired cocktail.
