This week, a lot of the planning applications submitted to Oxford City Council's revolve around housing.

Conversion of shops to flats, garages to homes and warehouses to apartments are just a few of the things on this weeks list.

•Where? 24 Kelburne Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 3SJ

•In brief: This application refers to Kelburne Road Newsagents in Cowley.

It wants to change the existing shop into a residential property and so this application asks the council to approve a of use from Commercial, Business and Service (Use Class E) to create a dwellinghouse (Use Class C3).

•Planning reference: 21/03601/DDW56

•Where? 45 Catherine Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 3AH

•In brief: This site is currently a freestanding warehouse, in what is referred to as a 'predominantly residential area of East Oxford'.

It was used as a light industrial unit in the past, however, it has not been used over the last 12 years.

The application seeks to demolish the building, that was built in 1962, to create six new flats.

•Where? 4000 John Smith Drive, Oxford, OX4 2GX

•In brief: This application refers to Oxford Health Foundation Trust Headquarters.

The application seeks to enlarge the existing plant enclosure to include bin stores.

It also asks to install PV (solar panels) and reclad and re-off the whole building.

Changes will also be made to the parking landscapes, to create delivery access.

•Where? 6 Doris Field Close, Oxford, OX3 0DP

•In brief: This application seeks to erect a single part two story rear and side extension.

This includes converting the garage into a habitable space.

•Where? 62 Herschel Crescent, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 3TU

•In brief: This is an application changing the property use from a dwellinghouse, to a House of Multiple Occupancy.

•Planning reference: 22/00064/FUL DEL

•Where? 8 York Road, Oxford, OX3 8NW

•In brief: This application asks to create a two-storey building.

The dwelling would contain two bedrooms, car parking space and additional landscaping.

•Planning reference: 21/03361/FUL

•Where? 152 London Road, Headington, Oxford, OX3 9ED

•In brief: This application is being re-advertised on the council's website.

The property developer, Cantay Estates Ltd., is seeking permission to demolish the existing shops at 152 London Road to replace them with a new 1-5 storey building, that would hold retail space and room for a hotel.

The application has already received a number of complaints based on the effect the building will have on the 'character of the area, the effect on the traffic, the effect on the pollution in the area, as well as a 'general dislike' for the proposal.
