A Banbury litterbug was fined more than £200 - for throwing away a cigarette.
Christina Soare, 31, was handed the £220 fine by Birmingham magistrates after they found that she had deposited the waste in Queensway, Birmingham, on June 1 last year.
An allegation that she’d breached the Environmental Protection Act was found proved.
Soare, of East Street, Banbury, was fined £220 and ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge, court documents show.
The case was dealt with under the single justice procedure, meaning that a lone magistrate sitting alongside a legal adviser out of court read the case papers, came to a verdict and decided on the punishment.
