An inquest has been opened into the death of a motorcyclist in a crash near Faringdon two days after Christmas.

Dale Young, 33, lost his life in the three-vehicle crash on the A420 at the junction with London Street at around 6.30am on December 27.

The Watchfield man was identified by police from his photocard driving licence and his bike’s registration details, Oxford Coroner’s Court heard on Wednesday afternoon.

Following Mr Young’s death, wife Jenna paid tribute: "Dale loved being a father and would take our son on bike rides and train and bus journeys when he wasn’t at work, and when he wasn’t doing that, he enjoyed playing games on the PC.

Oxford Mail:

"We cannot attempt to put into words what this accident has done to us a family. It has brought so much devastation and heartache. Dale always had time for helping others, whether this was fixing laptops or sharing his very vast knowledge to those who needed it.”

A full inquest will take place on July 28.
