Plans for a new bookshop with micro-brewery in Oxford's Covered Market as well as a new children's home are just some of the public notices issued by local councils in the last week.

Each week, local authorities in Oxfordshire issue the notices, which cover roadworks, in addition to both licensing and planning applications.

Licensing application: Esmeralda Cenga has submitted a premises licence application to Oxford City Council for a new licence to provide late night refreshment at 260 Cowley Road, Oxford.

New bookshop with micro-pub: Oliver Mason from Gulp Fiction has applied for a change of use for the unit at 28 - 29 Covered Market from retail to a bookshop/ micro-pub.

The unit, which was last used as a retail hat shop, will have a temporary sign attached using bungee cords in the same way as other units in the market. A dishwasher and sink will be installed on the ground floor and connected to the foul water pipe.

Additional works include adapting the slatted walls to accommodate books, while leaving the historical material untouched, installing freestanding furniture, decorating, removing the carpet and modifying the lighting.

Helena Kennedy Building: An application has been submitted to change one of the conditions attached to planning permission 18/00872/FUL.

This involves the demolition of Oxford Brookes University's existing Helena Kennedy building on Headington Hill and erection of replacement academic building for the Faculty of Technology, Design, and Environment (amended plans).

It will allow an additional level within the existing built envelope and without altering the roofline following asbestos excavation; internal and external reconfiguration including on landscape, internal layouts, floorspace, and architecture and associated operational and design changes.

New children's home: Oxfordshire County Council, Corporate Parenting Children's Management Team, is applying to Oxfordshire County Council for planning permission to construct a single storey dwelling for use as a Children's Home.

A new access will be created on to Back Lane, associated landscaping, boundary treatment and car parking, on land at Home Farm, Back Lane, Aston, Bampton.

Warneford Hospital: The hospital in Warneford Lane has applied to erect a part single, part two-storey building and storage pavilion with additional car parking, bin and cycle stores at the Highfield Unit.

University College Boathouse: A planning application has been submitted for the formation of a security fence and access gates with two mounted lights and 26 bollard lights at the boathouse on Abingdon Road.

New home in Farmoor: Mr Abdul Latifi has applied for the demolition of an existing detached house and construction of new replacement dwelling. Retrospective consent is sought for ancillary buildings in the rear garden at Latifi Garden, Eynsham Road, Farmoor.

The proposed work may affect the setting of a Listed Building.

Extensions in Garsington: An application has been made to for a single storey rear extension to dwelling and alterations including conversion of garage to additional accommodation at 120 Oxford Road, Garsington.

Another application has been submitted for proposed front and rear extension with internal and external associated works at 7 Wheatley Road, Garsington.

The proposed work may affect the character/setting of Conservation Area.
