A woman was handed a fined by an Oxford court for failing to close her business in a Tier 4 area.

Neelam Ali, of London Road in Loudwater, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on August 20 2021.

33-year old Ali appeared at court for failing to cease carrying out business and/or a service not permitted to be open in Tier 4 area, namely Reading, on March 7.

Ali was fined £1,000, made to pay a victim surcharge of £100 and costs of £85.

Tier 4 restrictions were in place in early 2021 across many parts of the country. The restrictions saw household mixing banned, the closure of hospitality and non-essential retail.
