A woman was fined thousands of pounds by an Oxford court for being outside of her place of isolation, after returning from a red list country.

Holly Wakefield, Coote Close in Bracknell, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ court on November 26 2021.

The court found that 23-year old Wakefield left her place of self-isolation on September 15 after returning from a red list country.

She was found at her address rather than the Mercure Hotel on Shepiston Lane at London Heathrow Airport where she was meant to be quarantining.

Wakefield was fined £5,000, made to pay a victim surcharge of £190 and costs of £90.
