Cub Scouts displayed their creative talents for all to see at a handicrafts exhibition.

A model of a Kon-Tiki raft, with washing-up liquid containers as a base, won first prize for its maker, eight-year-old Simon East, of the 33rd Kidlington group. Other winners were Paul Harris (14th Oxford) with a painting, Simon Webster (33rd Kidlington) with a collage of a fish, Kirwan Augwin (5th Oxford) with a campfire painting, Martin Morgan with a collage, Christopher Groves with a puppet, David Lewis with an aircraft model, and Ross Biffin with a model galleon.
The exhibition at SS Philip and James Church hall in Leckford Road, Oxford, in 1971 attracted entries from 140 Cub Scouts.
