Some of Oxford’s top restaurants have revealed what their very best dishes are.

All the restaurants are featured in the famed Michelin Guide, which rates the excellence of selected establishments based on the quality of the food.

In the city there are currently six restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide. These include Pompette, 215 Kitchen & Drinks, Bhoomi Kitchen, Arbequina, Oli’s Thai and the Magdalen Arms.

Bhoomi Kitchen is the most recent addition to the Guide and it is also the first Indian restaurant in the city to receive such recognition. Read more here>>>

Two of Oxford’s Michelin restaurants, however, will soon be closing their doors to customers.

Earlier in December, 215 Kitchen & Drinks announced it would not reopen in the new year but instead a ‘new concept’ will open in February 2022 in the same location. Read more here>>>

Similarly, in November Oli’s Thai, which holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, also said it would be closing down in February and reopening in the same location as a new establishment. Read more here>>>

The new restaurant called Elle’s Deli will potentially open in April or May.

Three of the six restaurants have told the Oxford Mail what they believe their best dishes are.

French restaurant Pompette, which can be found on South Parade in Summertown, said that its best-selling dish is its Fish Soup.

Featured on the starter section of the menu, the soup is made with rouille, Gruyère and croutons and is available for £10.

One for the vegetarians, Oli’s Thai shared that their best dish is an Aubergine Curry. 

The dish is available for £16.50.

Newcomer to the Michelin Guide Bhoomi Kitchen said that for £16.95 their best dish is a beef curry that includes Kerala parottas.

The dish is made with cuts of beef brisket, green chillies, peppercorn, lemon juice, ginger and garlic. It is served with two Kerala parottas, whipped and layered with butter and flattened then cooked on a buttery pan.
