Whether it is getting those special festive treats, stocking up on sprouts or forgetting to buy milk until the last minute on Christmas Eve, there is usually something we are left rushing around for before the big day.
In the run up to Christmas, supermarkets across Oxfordshire have revealed their festive opening hours.
The timetables differ to the stores normal open hours with all the stores have shorter hours, being closed on Christmas Day.
These are the supermarket festive opening hours this year:
Marks and Spencer
December 18 – 7am to 8pm
December 19 – 11am to 5pm
December 20 – 6am to midnight
December 21 – 6am to midnight
December 22 – 6am to midnight
December 23 – 6am to 7pm
December 24 – 6am to 7pm
December 25 – Closed
December 26 – Closed
December 27 – 9am to 6pm
December 28 – 8am to 8pm
December 29 – 8am to 8pm
December 30 – 8am to 8pm
December 31 – 8am to 6pm
January 1 – Closed
January 2 – 11am to 5pm
January 3 – 8am to 8pm
Tesco
A spokesperson for Tesco said: “Opening hours may vary from store to store so we advise customers to visit the Tesco Store locator to check their local store’s opening times.
“Over 370 large stores will be extending their opening hours to 24 hours between Monday 20th December and Christmas Eve.”
The Tesco superstore in Cowley is open the following hours:
Christmas Eve – Midnight to 7 PM
Christmas Day – Closed
Boxing Day – 10am to 4pm
New Year's Eve – 6am to 7pm
New Year's Day – 8am to 6pm
Sainsbury’s
A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s told the Oxford Mail: “The vast majority of our supermarkets will be open from 6am until 11pm from the 20th to 23rd December.
“On Christmas eve, most of our supermarkets will be open from 6am to 7pm and on Christmas and Boxing day, all of our stores will be closed.
“On New Years Day, majority of our supermarkets will be open between 8am and 8pm. Opening hours can vary though, so we advise customers check our store locator for the latest details for their area.”
Morrisons
A spokesperson from Morrisons shared a timetable of the store’s opening hours over the festive period.
Asda
A spokesperson for Asda said: “Our festive opening times vary depending on the store, customers can find their nearest store opening hours by visiting the store locator website.”
The Asda superstore in Wheatley is open the following hours:
December 19 – 10am to 4pm
December 20 – 6am to 12am
December 21 – 6am to 12am
December 22 – 6am – 12am
December 23 – 6am to 12am
December 24 – 6am to 7pm
December 25 – Closed
December 26 – 10am to 4pm
December 27 – 8am to 8pm
December 28 – 8am to 8pm
December 29 – 7:30am to 10pm
December 30 – 7:30am to 10pm
December 31 – 7:30am to 7:30pm
January 1 – 10am to 5pm
January 2 – 10am to 4pm

Lidl
A Lidl spokesperson said: “We can confirm that all Lidl stores will be closed on Christmas Day. On Boxing Day and over New Year, opening times will vary across the country. We would therefore encourage customers to check the opening times of their nearest store via our online locator.”
