A man will stand trial next year accused of slashing another across the head.

Richard Cassidy, 58, is said to have threatened the other man using a knife in Springfield Road, Wantage, on November 16.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday morning, Cassidy, of Swindon Road, Swindon, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent, attempted wounding with intent, making threats to kill and making threats with a knife.

He is said to have used a knife to slash his opponent across the head during the altercation last month.

Judge Ian Pringle QC bailed him to return to court for the trial on September 5 next year.

His bail conditions require him to live and sleep at the house in Swindon Road. He must not go to Wantage or speak to prosecution witnesses.
