Exeter Hall was listed as a walk in site but earlier today was removed from the NHS list, leaving the nearest walk-in location for Oxfordshire residents Brackley Methodist Church in Northamptonshire.

The jabs being offered at Exeter Hall were being run by Jardines Pharmacy, an independent, family-run group of NHS Community Pharmacies serving Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

A spokesperson for Jardines Pharmacy told the Oxford Mail that walk-ins were being offered at Exeter Hall but they have been stopped due to the “huge” volume of jabs that will be needed.

The spokesperson said: “It is not for walk-ins after Boris made the announcement the other day, it has gone to appointment only because of the huge amount of volume which will be coming through.”

They explained that for the “foreseeable” the vaccinations at Exeter Hall, including boosters, will be appointment only.

The spokesperson added: “The demand has gone a lot higher than it was this time last week.”

On Sunday night, the Prime Minister announced that people across Oxfordshire will be invited to get a booster jab before the new year.

In a pre-recorded speech to the nation, Boris Johnson said every adult over 18 in England who has had a second dose of a vaccine at least three months ago will be able to have their booster from yesterday.
