Plans for over 60 new homes on Sandy Lane, West Oxford, are just some of the public notices issued by local councils in the last week.

Each week, local authorities in Oxfordshire issue the notices, which cover roadworks, in addition to both licensing and planning applications.

Oxford Station upgrade planning decision: Oxford City Council have granted approval for the following development (subject to conditions)West side engineering works to construct an additional platform 5 railway line with platform canopy cover and platform enclosures providing passenger facilities, along with a stair and lift access to a subway connection to a proposed secondary station entrance incorporating retail, public toilets, an open concourse, staff accommodation and a relocated station refuse area.

Proposed replacement rail and pedestrian bridges over Botley Road along with alterations to the road to provide grade separated pavements each side.

Reconfiguration of Roger Dudman Way to connect on to Cripley Road and replacement of Sheepwash Bridge.

Proposed demolition of the single storey railway buildings at the rear of platform 4, along with the Youth Hostel and removal of two small single storey commercial units between Cripley Road and Roger Dudman Way.

Formation of public realm to the west side of the proposed station building along with cycle parking facilities

Slade Park Fire Station: Application for prior approval for the replacement of six existing antennas with 12 antennas on three six-metre support poles and ancillary works at the fire station on Horspath Driftway, Headington.

New homes on Godstow Road: Planning application for the demolition of existing dwellinghouse and outbuildings and construction of two four-bed homes with private amenity space, car parking and bin and cycle stores at 152 Godstow Road, Oxford.

Licensing application: Willows Shake Shop in Abingdon has applied to Vale of White Horse Council for a licence to sell alcohol between 10am and 7pm Monday to Sunday.

Student accommodation: St John's College is applying for the removal of the St Clare's logo from the pediment at 18 Bardwell Road, demolition of a rear lean-to. Twenty solar panels and five air source heat pumps in acoustic enclosures will be installed.

The site is currently vacant having been used for teaching and administration functions by St Clare's Oxford. An approved planning application establishes the use for students classes and living accommodation.

Jericho Cheese Company: An application to cover up the previous occupier's sign. Alterations to ground floor shop front include installation of white non-illuminated lettering to fascia and revarnishing.

This is a requested variation to Listed Building Consent to overboard the fascia with a brown painted wooden board at 7 St Michael's Mansions, Ship Street.

51 new homes: Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council are applying for permission to demolish former school boarding hostel Northfield House on Sandy Lane, West Oxford.

The hybrid application is for full planning application for the demolition of the existing Northfield Hostel buildings and erection of two four-storey buildings to provide 51 dwellings with new pedestrian and vehicular accesses, vehicular and bicycle parking, landscaping, amenity space, refuse storage and noise attenuation works.

Outline planning application for the erection of up to 10 homes on a former playing field to the east of the hostel buildings. All matters reserved except scale and access.

Public Inquiry: On 11 January 2022 at 10am at Farmoor Village Hall, Cumnor Road, Mr Frank Smith and M McDonagh will appeal against the enforcement notice(s) served by Vale of White Horse District Council. The notice alleges that without planning permission, land was used for the siting of mobile homes for residential purposes at Greengate Bungalow, Cumnor Road.

An Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will attend at the place, date and time shown above to decide the appeal(s).
