The winners of an Oxford Mail competition have told of their “surprise” and “shock” at winning the prizes.
The competition winners from across Oxfordshire won a range of prizes including IPads, Nintendo Switches and gift vouchers.
Malcolm Kimber
Mr Kimber, who is from Headington, won a £100 M&S voucher.
He said: “It was a great surprise and lovely to receive. I spent the money on new clothes for myself and the family for Christmas.”
Ann Laider
Ann Laider, who is from Marcham, won a £150 Halfords voucher.
She described how she was “thrilled” to win the prize.
She said: “It was the first prize I have ever won!"
Kerry Whitehouse
Kerry Whitehouse’s sons Roman and Marshall won a Nintendo Switch.
She described how the boys did not have the gaming device before and they said the Switch was “amazing”.
Sue Smith
Sue Smith, who is from Old Marston, also won a Nintendo Switch.
She said: “It was great. I have never won anything like that in my life and did not expect to!”
Josephine Meade
Josephine Meade, who is from Sutton Courtenay, won an iPad.
Ms Meade received the call to say she had won while on the way home from work described winning as a “lovely shock”.
She said: “I was really happy. Thank you to the Oxford Mail.”
Sarah Blakeman
Sarah Blakeman, who is from Kennington, won an iPad.
She said: “I was amazed because two or three weeks before, my grandchildren asked for an IPad.
“I was absolutely chuffed to bits because I have never won anything, just small things from raffles.”
She added that the IPad will help teach her grandchildren the responsibility looking after something expensive and sharing it.
