Young Christmas card designers gave bank staff a headache in picking the winners.
Nearly 50 young customers at Barclays’ branch in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, entered the Christmas competition in 1988, and the standard was so high judges found it hard to decide the winners.

With them are staff members Rosie Crook, Maria Misina, Cheryl Marlow and Colin Ludford.
First prize in the 11-14 age group went to Tracy Scrivens, 12, from Benson, who received a stereo cassette player and £5. The winner in the 7-10 group was Emma Wylie, nine, of Radley, who won a digital watch and £5.
