This is the damage that murder accused Daniel O’Hara Wright’s body did to the front of a Ford Kuga.

The 24-year-old leapt in front of the 4x4 after killing his mum in woodland near Christmas Common, a jury at Oxford Crown Court has heard this week.

O’Hara Wright, who was covered in his own and his mother’s blood, told the terrified driver of the Ford that he had ‘fallen from the sky’. Eyewitnesses said the driver, Louise Townsend, told them he’d also claimed to have fallen ‘from heaven’.

The pictures - released by the Crown Prosecution Service today - were shown to the jury earlier this week as Ms Townsend gave evidence from the witness stand.

She said she was driving home from work when she noticed something in her field of vision as she passed Watlington Park.

“Next thing I knew he was on my car bonnet,” she added.

She told the jury: “He sat in the passenger seat and said 'I fell from the sky' or 'I've fallen from the sky'. He said 'do I [Ms Townsend] believe in God?'”

She had not replied as she was ‘too frightened’.

The man asked her in a polite voice to drive on. In fear, she continued up the road, Nettlebed Henley, towards Christmas Common.

Ms Townsend flashed her lights at an oncoming car to try and attract their attention.

She tussled with O’Hara Wright over her handbag and business papers. He let go and fled from the car.
