POSITIVE cases of coronavirus in Oxfordshire have risen by 652 in the latest figures, taking the weekend total to 1,332.

Zero deaths were recorded in the county, with one on Saturday in the latest statistics released by the Government.

The new cases were recorded as follows:

• Oxford (118)

• Cherwell (142)

• South Oxfordshire (170)

• Vale of White Horse (140)

• West Oxfordshire (82)

These latest figures mean there has now been a total of 92,881 recorded cases of Covid-19 in the county.

Across the UK, 43,992 new people had a positive test result reported today.

Between November 29 and today, 322,042 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows a increase of 5.4 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

There was 54 deaths in the UK within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported in the latest figures.

Between November 29 and today, there has been 830 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

This shows an decrease of 2.1 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

The latest vaccination figures reveal that more than 51 million people have been given a first dose, while more than 46 and a half million people have been given a second dose.
