POSITIVE cases of coronavirus in Oxfordshire have risen by 680 in the latest figures.

One death was recorded in the county, in the latest statistics, released by the Government.

The new cases were recorded as follows:

• Oxford (101)

• Cherwell (161)

• South Oxfordshire (150)

• Vale of White Horse (155)

• West Oxfordshire (113)

These latest figures mean there has now been a total of 92,229 recorded cases of Covid-19 in the county.

Across the UK, 42,848 new people had a positive test result reported today.

Between November 28 and today, 315,731 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows a increase of two and a half per cent compared to the previous seven days.

There were 127 deaths in the UK within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported in the latest figures.

Between November 28 and today, there has been 827 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

This shows an decrease of 3.6 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

The latest vaccination figures reveal that more than 51 million people have been given a first dose, while more than 46 million people have been given a second dose.
