Oxford city centre is getting a new Starbucks next week.

The American coffee chain will open its new shop on the site of its old store on Cornmarket, which closed down earlier in the year.

Starbuck’s newest branch will be a takeaway only outlet that has no indoor seating.

It’s business is described as a ‘treasure trove’ of goodies.

Manager Arturs told the Oxford Mail the idea is people will “take coffee and hot food away and enjoy Oxford.”

Arturs hopes people will enjoy the brand’s wide range of coffees, cakes and sandwiches while they explore the city.

This Starbucks will join Oxford’s other brand in Headington as well as the company’s more than 1,000 stores across the UK.

Earlier this year a spokesperson from Starbucks UK said the store closed as it reached the end of its lease.

They said: “We can confirm that this licensed store location at 6/7 Cornmarket Street in Oxford City Centre has now closed as it reached the end of its lease.

"We would like to thank our customers for their loyalty over the years and let them know their nearest Starbucks store is nearby at Headington.”

Starbucks will open on Cornmarket next Wednesday, December 8 at 8am.
