Visitor James C wrote in their review: "We went to the Nutcracker Christmas in the Palace today. It was singularly brilliant and quite the best visual Christmas event I've ever seen. The animatronic angels were beautiful and the sequence of rooms were coordinated to the music. Sublime. And a group of several tiny children were completely enchanted by it all as they went round behind us. The young woman dancing as, I presume, the Sugar Plum Fairy was 5 star."

Number two was Longleat House in Wiltshire.

TripAdvisor user TLois wrote: “Longleat has managed to create such a magical alternative to their lanterns this year with the Land of Light.

“The lights are beautiful and it’s lovely to take the time to walk the route and enjoy all the various aspects.

“Even though you can see there are a lot of cars and visitors, it doesn’t feel busy. I’d definitely recommend it for a great Christmas day or evening out!”

Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire came fourth.
