A man who admitted attacking woman was warned to expect a prison sentence.
Jacob Chambers, 32, had been due to stand trial on the charge of causing actual bodily harm to a woman in Banbury on New Years’ Day 2021.
But at a hearing on Thursday afternoon, Chambers changed his plea to guilty.
Bailing him to return to Oxford Crown Court on January 14 for sentence, Judge Nigel Daly noted that the defendant had a ‘very unattractive record’.
He warned: “When you come back to court you will be looking at a potential immediate custodial sentence. All clear?”
Chambers, of Anderson Road, Birmingham, confirmed that it was.
Causing actual bodily harm carries a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment, although typically sentences are much lower.
