A DRINK driver was fined after being caught over the limit in Wantage.

Joseph Sellwood, 26 of Woodend in Halton attended Oxford Magistrate's Court on June 11, 2021.

He pleaded guilty to driving a blue BMW on Mill Street in Wantage while over the legal alcohol limit.

Sellwood had 50 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which exceeds the legal limit.

He has been disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14 months. However, the courts have said if Sellwood completes a course approved by the Secretary of State by March 4, 2022, the disqualification will be reduced to 14 weeks.

Sellwood was ordered to pay a total of £972. This includes a £806 fine, £81 to fund victim services and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
