A DRIVER who parked his uninsured car on double yellow lines has seen his vehicle seized by police.

Officers approached the motorist, who parked up on Carfax in Oxford on Saturday night, to offer some advice about parking on double yellow lines.

But they found out the man had no insurance.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police's roads policing team posted: "Unfortunately, the driver had no insurance for which we were all out of advice so had to seize his vehicle."

A photograph shows the Citroen brazenly parked across the double yellow lines. Police attached a sticker to the front windscreen warning, 'no insurance means no car'.

The Highway Code states that drivers must not park or wait on double yellow lines at any time, even if there are no signs to indicate this.
