For over two decades, civic leaders and volunteers brought festive fun with Didcot Christmas Street Fair but it did not return after the pandemic and now there is a festive market instead.

Here we look back at photos of street fair fun from 2016 and 2018.

In a statement, the organisers of the Didcot Christmas Street Fair said in 2021: "Didcot Events team are sorry to say that this year's Didcot Christmas Street fair cannot go ahead.

"For various reasons we felt we could not be responsible for a large event in Didcot when people are still cautious about gathering in large numbers which we cannot restrict or control.

"We know many of you will be disappointed and many of our charities, clubs and groups who raise money for their good causes will miss out.

Oxford Mail:

"Therefore we organised two smaller events. The first was at the Marriott at Milton Gate on November 21 and there will be one in the Market Place and hopefully the Orchard Centre on Sunday, December 5.

"There is availability for stalls at both of these and the funds will support our events in 2022.

Oxford Mail:

"If you wish to apply for a stall they are £35 for gifts and food to take away and £25 for charities, clubs and group."

Didcot Festive Market takes place this year on Sunday, December 4, at the Orchard Centre from 10am to 3pm.
