A WOMAN is in hospital with a broken back after a hit and run.
The woman, who is in her 40s, was crossing the road on Winchester Way, at the junction with Challow Road in Wantage, at around 7.30am yesterday morning when she was struck by a van which didn’t stop at the scene.
She was raced to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where she is currently being treated.
Now police are desperately appealing for any information.
PC Andrew Wickens, based at Abingdon police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have information about this incident to please get in touch.
“You can contact us either making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43210532890.
“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
