A PENSIONER who raised more than £2,000 for the NHS at the height of the pandemic is continuing to raise funds for charitable causes.

Derrick King made wooden bird feeders and planters last year, with all proceeds going to the League of Friends of Witney Community Hospital.

Now, the Witney resident has raised a further £375 for the NHS, £375 for Children in Need and £300 for WaterHarvest, a charity which provides drinking water to rural communities in India.

Mr King said: “This has meant working long hours replenishing stock that had been sold the previous week.

“At my age I feel I should take a long rest and will only be making things to order, which is always welcome, until the spring of next year.”
