A single Christmas tree stands in Broad Street as Oxford prepares for the annual Christmas market.
Covered in lights and shining brightly the Christmas tree marks the start of festive preparations in the city.
Organisers of the Oxford Christmas Market have said it will not be long until the lonely tree is joined by market stalls and festive shoppers.

The Oxford Christmas Market will be held in Broad Street from December 9 to 19. There will be Christmas carols, market traders selling handmade gifts, food and mulled wine.
