PEOPLE have spotted green and blue sheep in fields in Oxfordshire.

A post on Facebook has left people trying to work out why the animals, which have been seen in Blewbury, have been coloured.

Joanne Baker shared on the Didcot Community page: "Stay with me with this one. My partner swears he saw a field of green sheep in Blewbury.

"Has anyone else seen this and do you know why they are green? We thought maybe they have been dipped in something."

Others quickly commented saying they have also noticed the green sheep and blue ones too in the area.

Lauren Aspell said: "I’ve seen this and my children ask why they're green every time we go past. I’d like to know too."

Michelle Jefferies commented: "I saw a field of blue sheep driving from Streatley towards Blewbury at the weekend! They’re on the left just after Starveall Farm.

"I’m pretty sure they’ve just been dipped and treated rather than spray-painted! Glad it’s not just me that’s seen them!"

Joanne says the sheep are 'coloured all over'.

Another resident Charlotte Slade said: "Yes. They're blue - saw them the other day. It's either dipping to treat for ticks, mites, botfly and other parasites."

"They put a blue chalk block on a harness (the ram looks super cute with it on) and the chalk is on their chest so when they mount the females they leave their backs blue so the farmer knows which ones. But this did look a bit extreme if it's that."
