Bella Italia has undergone a makeover.

The Italian restaurant, on George Street, is part of a chain known for its pasta and pizza.

Oxford's branch, nestled inbetween pizza-rivals Franco Manca and the Oxford New Theatre has transformed both inside and outside into a lighter, brighter style.

With a fresh lick of paint the dark blue exterior and awning has become light grey with white and green stripes.

Inside, the dark wooden tables have been switched for marble-topped ones and new pink and green tones have been put around the room for a "more relaxed atmosphere".

The eatery swung back open its doors on November 4.

A spokesperson for Bella Italia said: “We’re delighted to welcome guests to our newly refurbished restaurant on George Street in Oxford. Guests can expect our much-loved specials and familiar menu, along with the exceptional service and welcoming staff they’re used to, with a new, fresher design and a contemporary feel.

“The refreshed look and feel includes subtle touches of pinks and greens, creating a more relaxed atmosphere and overall dining experience. We hope our guests enjoy the new look and we can’t wait to bring people together again for great food and drink.”
