A SUSPECTED electrical fault is believed to have caused a fire at a Walton Street flat in the early hours of the morning.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze at 3am this morning, with two appliances from Rewley Road Fire Station sent.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and a high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke from the building.
A suspected electrical fault is thought to be the cause of the fire.
Incident commander Jason Clifford said the occupants of the flat had smoke detection that alerted them to the fire, and urged people to check they have working smoke alarms.
