A WOMAN was fined more than £200 at court after failing to buy a £7 ticket.
On March 19, Cara Bewick, 37, of Manor Road in Kidlington, failed to pay for a £7.90 train ticket at Oxford Train Station while she was travelling on Great Western Railway.
This was Contrary to section 5(3)(a) of the Regulation of Railways Act 1889 where a person ‘travels or attempts to travel on a railway without having previously paid their fare, and with intent to avoid payment thereof’.

Bewick was fined £220 by Oxford Magistrates Court and made pay compensation of £7.90.
As well as this she was made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 pay costs of £180.
